Economic Development
The joint City
of Washington C.H./Fayette County Economic Development Department strives to
create opportunity for the citizens of this community as
well as Fayette County and the surrounding areas.
The Washington C.H. Industrial Park provides jobs for many
workers in the area. Companies such as Domtar,
McKesson, Lowes Distribution, Norwesco, Sugar Creek Packing,
and Wal-Mart Distribution are among the many companies that offer a
wide variety of employment opportunities to the citizens
of the City of Washington C.H. and surrounding communities.
Partnering with the Community Improvement Corporation,
the City of Washington C.H. has worked to supply the
industrial park with all utilities including fiber optic
cable. The industrial park maintains over 300 acres of
fully serviced land ready to be developed.
The City
of Washington C.H. is not only dedicated to creating
industrial opportunity, but also takes great pride in
maintaining its rural character. One way the City has
worked to achieve this goal is by preserving the
downtown business area. The downtown business area not
only gives the City of Washington C.H. a sense of character,
but also provides economic opportunity for many in the
community. Many service industries, government offices,
and specialty shops are happy to call the downtown
home. For more information about the downtown area
